  • Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

We arrived in Bangkok a day early and booked the same hotel as our group. The hotel staff was very welcoming, and we could even stay in the same room once the rest of the group arrived. During some free time, before meeting up with the group, we explored the Wang Lang Market for hours. Jet lag eventually caught up with us, and we got our first (of many) Thai massages.

Day 2: Grand Palace & Tour of Bangkok

The main focus was seeing the famous Grand Palace, followed by a visit to Wat Pho and its Reclining Buddha. These ancient temples were breathtaking. After lunch at a local restaurant, we wandered through the flower market and took a canal tour. For dinner, we visited Khaosan Road, where we enjoyed drinks and got to know each other better.

    Day 3: Ayutthaya Adventure

We spent the day riding bikes through the historic city of Ayutthaya. The sight of the temples was striking, and I’ll remember them forever. After visiting the temples, we had the best noodles I’ve ever eaten. That evening, we headed to a night market, where M gave us each 250 Baht to buy dinner.

    Day 4: Chiang Mai Exploration

In Chiang Mai, we enjoyed Khao Soi, a coconut curry dish. We also explored the Flower Festival, visited Doi Suthep Temple, and shopped at the Sunday Night Market. It was an unforgettable experience!

    Day 5: Thai Waterfalls

We spent the day at Sticky Falls, climbing directly up the cascading waters. Afterward, we enjoyed a picnic and a Thai cooking class. It was one of the highlights of the trip!

    Day 6: Elephant Sanctuary

This was the day we most looked forward to—visiting the elephant sanctuary. We spent hours learning about the elephants, walking them, feeding them, and making unforgettable memories.

    Day 7: Krabi

We flew to Krabi and stayed on a stunning island. We caught the sunset on Railay Beach and found our own way for dinner. Note: The nightlife in Krabi is nearly non-existent compared to Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

    Day 8: Island Tour

We spent the day island hopping, snorkeling, and enjoying beautiful beaches. Be cautious of jellyfish in the ocean, as one of our group members experienced a painful sting.

Day 9: Rock Climbing and Cave Exploration

We woke up early and headed to Railay Beach for rock climbing and cave exploration. It was an adrenaline-filled morning and one of the highlights of the trip!

    Day 10: Relaxation & Departure

On our final morning, we relaxed and caught the last sunrise of our trip. It felt like Thailand was saying goodbye. M ensured all transportation arrangements were taken care of.

Tips & Tricks for Your Thailand Trip

    • Bring bug spray or treat your clothes with permethrin to avoid mosquito bites.
    • Hydrate frequently, especially in Bangkok and Krabi, where the heat is intense.
    • Learn basic Thai phrases to connect with locals.
    • Always carry toilet paper or wet wipes, as not all restrooms provide them.
    • Use Grab, Thailand’s version of Uber, for convenient transportation.
